Tigers v Penryn [2]
Liskeard stole the show during their home match against Penryn
Tigers 36 - 19 Penryn [2]
The girls welcomed back ex club member Kerry Elliott, albeit now playing for the opposing side!
Christina Broad stepped into shooter again due to the absent Taylor, and her excellent long range shooting has shown she is a real contender for the first team. The Tigers line up was Christina Broad (GS), Sophie Hocking (GA), Amie Hoskin - captain (WA), Jo Glossop (C), Holly Lemon (WD), Lucy Smale (GD), Kirstie Chappell (GK). Subs - Lauren Finch
Liskeard started the match with pace, Glossop dominated the game linking defence and attack, and the team took the first quarter 6 goals to 4. Chappell and Smale took control of the defensive circle in the 2nd quarter, and along with key interceptions by Lemon, limited Penryn to only one goal in the entire quarter.
After some team changes Penryn came out stronger after half-time, drawing the quarter 7 all, meaning Liskeard lead 24-12 going into the final stage. Liskeard used this lead to try some new combinations, Hoskin moved back into shooter, Lemon made her debut in WA with Finch coming off the bench to WD. The old shooting partnership of Hocking & Hoskin was evident with good movement in the circle and Lemon showed to be a versatile player throughout the mid-court.
Liskeard’s hard work paid off ending the match 36-19 and taking all 5 points. Sophie Hocking was rewarded for her excellent shooting by gaining the Player of the Match award.
