LNC END OF SEASON DINNER & PRESENTATION
Liskeard Netball Club's annual end of season dinner and presentation was held at The Eliot House Hotel on Friday.
Following a lovely dinner, Chairperson Lucy Smale took to the stage to deliver a summary of the season. Lucy was proud to announce that it had again been our most successful year so far, with Tigers finishing third in division 2, newly promoted Panthers finishing a respectable sixth in division 4 and Cougars narrowly missing out on promotion, finishing forth in division 6.
Lucy then began the presentations, following nominations from the whole Club. Winners were:
Cougars Players' Player: Louise Piner
Panthers Players' Player: Julia Eldridge
Tigers Players' Player: Vicki Hastings
Club Personality: Amie Hoskin
Member of the Year: Holly Lemon
Lucy then handed over to Coach Rudi Britz, who thanked everyone for their hard work throughout the year and said how pleased he was to have had such a successful first season. He then went onto his awards, which he admitted had been difficult to decide between so many worthy candidates. However, they went to:
Most Improved: Vicky Ford
Best Attendence: Lucy Smale & Holly Lemon
Rudi then handed back to Lucy for some special thank yous... To Rudi for all his hard work and dedication, helping us to acheive our best results in the league so far; to Rudi's partner Lisa for putting up with him never being at home; to Glen Rogers for his photography of all our home games; to the Club umpires, presenting Syrina Cotton with flowers for all her help, and in her absence thanking Helen Tuxford.
Lucy then gave special mention to Amie Hoskin, who is sadly leaving us after many years with the club, presenting her with flowers to thank her for all her hard work both on the court and behind the scenes with the committee. She will certainly be missed and we all wish her well, and look forward to seeing her on court next season, albeit in different colours!
The night was a great success and it was lovely to see so many husbands and partners supporting the Club. Special thanks to all at Eliot House and to Amie for organising such a fantastic evening.
