END OF SEASON DO - 18th May!
The netballing season is coming to an end, and we all know what that means...... PARTY!!!
The Eliot House Hotel is booked for Friday 18th May - please let Amie know if you are able to come so that she can get an idea of numbers (the more the merrier so partners/ guests are also welcome)
Hopefully see you all there for a fantastic end to the season. Don't forget to give your voting slips to Lucy by 1st May latest so that we can get the trophies engraved.

AGM on 1st May
Our AGM has been scheduled for Tuesday 1st May at The Sports Club (the rugby end).
7.30pm for a prompt 8pm start!

We are also keen to welcome new members to the committee. Sadly Amie will be stepping down as Social Secretary so this position will need to be filled, also please consider if you would like to put yourself forward for any of the other roles and let Lucy know. These are as follows:

Ok, so it's the Halloween Party next weekend (hope you've all been busy selling tickets!) and we're going for a "Disney theme with a halloween twist"... there's loads of options if you look on ebay and also some great outfits on www.wonderlandparty.co.uk, or if you fancy making your own here's a few ideas...
Cinderella, Jasmine (Aladdin), Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Snow White, Beauty & The Beast, Mulan, Minnie Mouse, Sleeping Beauty, Fiona/ Shrek, Cruella Devil, Jessie (Toy Story), Snow White and many many more, or you can obviously do your own thing if you don't fancy doing Disney - can't wait to see all the outfits!!

29.10.11. HALLOWEEN:
The Railway are once again hosting a Halloween Fancy Dress Party, with proceeds to be shared between 3 local sprorts clubs; Liskeard Netball Club, Liskeard Football Club and Liskeard-Looe RFC.
Tickets are £5 each. The more we sell, the more the club benefits.
It's always a great night, with prizes for the best fancy dress, so get planning and get selling girls!

CAPTAINS
Now that you all know the teams for the coming season, if you would like to be considered as a Captain please let Lucy know before Tuesday. Each player will then be given the opportunity to vote on their preferred captain, from those who have volunteered, within their team. As a Captain there are various duties you will need to carry out, including confirming players and umpires, liasing with the Treasurer with regard to away match fees and fuel, leading your team and having a sound knowledge of the rules should there be a dispute during a match. If you would like to see the full list of duties, please contact Holly before putting yourself forward.

FUNDRAISERS
We have a couple of great fundraisers coming up which we need your help with:
Barn Dance - Saturday 1st October @ The Public Hall, Liskeard. Tickets are £10 each or 4 for £30 (children £3.50). All proceeds go to Macmillian Cancer Support
Halloween Party - Saturday 29th October @ The Railway, Liskeard. Tickets are £5 each. As well as being a fantastic night out, this is a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the club, so if you are interested or know anyone who might be please speak to Amie or Kerry.

Outdoor fitness will take place every Tuesday throughout July, EVERYONE to attend - please let Lucy know if you are unable to make it.

ROUNDERS
If you're having withdrawl symptoms now that the netball season has finished, don't forget rounders is now on every Thursday (7pm on the school field).
Don't worry if you haven't played in a while - or ever - it's just a bit of fun (and great fitness, as my aching muscles every Friday will confirm).
Keep an eye on the website and facebook page for updates and venue changes, and if the weather's a bit dodgy we'll confirm if it's still going ahead by 5pm.

Summer League
We have entered a team into the Plymouth summer league again this year, which runs from the beginning of June until the end of August. Matches are played on Wednesday evenings (every fortnight) at either 7pm or 8pm, fixtures are all on the "summer League" tab so please let Emma Dalton know which you can / can't play.
There will also be the opportunity of doing a bit of umpiring, so for those of you who are looking to be tested (or for those who would just like to improve) it would be a good chance for you to get in a bit of practise before the start of next season!

End of Season Do - 13th May!
The netballing season has officially come to an end, and we all know what that means...... PARTY!!!
We have booked the Eliot House Hotel for Friday 13th May so get the date in your diary. It will be £16 per head for a 2 course meal (or £20 for 3 courses) - please let Kerry know your menu choices asap.
The more the merrier so partners/ guests are welcome - hopefully see you all there for a fantastic end to our most successful season yet!

23.04.11. Race Night fundraiser
Another Race Night has been organised for Saturday 23rd April at The Railway.
The pub has kindly given us this opportunity to help raise some much needed funds for the club but we don't have long so we need to all start selling horses!
To make things easier each team will have 2 races to sell, therefore 16 horses between you. Captains will co-ordinate this.
Horses are £5 each. When selling a horse you will need to take the name and contact number of the "owner" and what they would like to name their horse. If their horse comes in first on the night then they win a prize - to be confirmed!
We are also looking for companies to sponsor races for £25 each. There are 7 races in total so if you know of anyone who might be interested please let Lucy or Holly know.

Unfortunately Panthers AND Tigers games have been cancelled this week with both Lastonet and Hayle conceeding . Cougars still travel to Penryn to face Storm 4 though - GOOD LUCK GIRLS!

20.01.11. Match Cancelled (COUGARS v Penzance 5)
Unfortunately Penzance have conceded this Thursdays game so still no game for Cougars. They'll now have to wait until 8th Feb when they're away to Camborne, more than THREE months after their last game!
We still have the hall though so will be having extra training - hopefully see as many of you there as possible!

Unfortunately Silhouettes have withdrawn their 3rd team from the league and therefore conceded tonight's match.
We still have the hall so will be having extra training for anyone at a loose end - hopefully see as many of you there as possible!

01.12.10. New Equipment
We have some spare funds at the moment following some excellent fundraisers and so it has been decided that we will be purchasing some new training equipment such as balls, cones, etc. If you have any ideas to help benefit our training sessions please speak to Holly.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of The Railway Inn, we are now able to get club hoodies! If you would like to order one please let Holly know what size you would like asap so that we can get the order in within the next week or so. We will still be asking for a contribution of £10 towards the costs, but thanks to The Railway, you are getting a right bargain!

23.08.10. Trials:
Team trials will be taking place on Tuesday 31st August & Tuesday 7th September. If you are unable to make either of these dates don't panic, you won't be automatically be left out of a squad, but please let us know asap so that you can still be considered for selection.
Teams will be announced on Tuesday 14th September ready for the first match of the season the following week - Cougars v St Agnes 4.
We will also be having club and team photos done on the 14th so make sure your hair is looking good!!!

We are back to training on Tuesday 17th August, 8.30 - 10pm at Lux Park Leisure Centre. We will also be running fitness sessions in the sports hall every Thursday evening throughout September, so for anyone who has slacked off a bit over the summer (like me) see you there!

26.07.10. Race Night fundraiser at The Railway
A Charity Race Night has been organised for Saturday 21st August at The Railway and the pub has kindly offered to split the proceedings between Liskeard Netball Club and a local charity.
We now all need to start selling horses! They are £5 each and we have decided that each team from last season will have 2 races to sell, therefore 16 horses between you. Captains from last season, Holly, Kerry & Debbie will co-ordinate this. When selling a horse we need to take the name and contact number of the "owner" and what they would like to name their horse. If their horse comes in first then they win a meal for 2 at The Railway.

Due to the success of rounders last night (thanks Vicki) we have decided to make it a weekly event. Every Thursday evening (weather depending) there will be rounders and/or other equally fun games from 7pm at Christina's field. Feel free to bring friends and partners - the more the merrier!

03.05.10. End of Season Dinner & Presentation Evening
Our annual end of season do has been booked for Saturday 19th June at The Bayleaf in Liskeard. Dinner will be served at 8pm so please arrive in plenty of time. The cost is £14.75 a head (payable on the night) . Partners are welcome, but I need confirmed numbers and menu choices (see below) by Friday 4th June so please let me know by then! Hopefully see you all there

20.04.10. IMPORTANT - Next Season
Further to the committee meeting last week, we would like to make all Club members aware of the situation for next season.
You were all advised in February that many of the existing committee had given prior notice of stepping down from their various posts; however we are disappointed to advise that nobody has come forward to take on a role. The bottom line is that with no committee there will be no club next year.
The vacant posts are Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Sophie, Sarah and Lucy will continue to be on-hand to support the person in their role, so please do not feel you will be left on your own from the start. The committee would like to welcome any new views so please have a think whether you, your partner, Mum or Dad would be able to help and support the club. If you are interested and would like some more information, please speak to one of us.
Our AGM is scheduled for Tuesday 4th May (time and venue to be confirmed) and it is at this meeting that we will appoint the new committee. Therefore, if you would like to put yourself forward, please speak to Sarah by the 29th April.

It's always pretty impossible to find a date when EVERYONE can be there for the end of season do, but if you could all please let me know if there are any dates in May (or early June) that you absolutely can not do, then we can try to arrange it so that as many people as possible can make it.
